GirlsTalkTech
Outreach program for middle and high school students to explore Computer Science - learning skills in Python, C++, Web Development, and more!
About Us:
GirlsTalkTech is a student-run program started by the GEECS Outreach Committee at the University of Michigan. We created this program because we hope that by introducing all these different directions within CS to female students from a younger age before they start college, we can help to close the gender gap within this industry.
We launched this program initially as a five-session program on November 21, 2020, but due to the success of the program, we are proud to announce that we are going to be continuing the program as we expand it nationally.
We hope that every girl in this program can take away a new set of skills and a deeper interest in CS from each of our sessions. Currently, we are holding workshops that help students learn a variety of new concepts that will be applied to an independent project.
If you identify as a female or non-binary student and are interested in tech, we hope to see you attend our program!
